Hi, I'm Byron. I'm excited to be involved in helping you all out. I've always enjoyed explaining things to others and breaking things down, and as an experienced team leader I have had to do that often for people at different levels of experience & knowledge.
I do get excited about the academic / nitty gritty side of technologies, which is why I've enjoyed working in a wide range of programming languages, stacks and styles. I think knowing quite a few languages helps me to understand the fundamental concepts in a more deep way, which means I can explain them better and help finding the tool for the job. Having said that, I don't think tech exists in a bubble and because of that I've typically worked in application-type / product-type development, rather than platform / system-type development. I like to be involved in solving the real world problem, which may need more or less technology than it first seems!
For clarity I have commercial experience in all of (in rough order of currently live knowledge): JavaScript, Python, Clojure, React, Pandas, Databases, SQL, AWS, Data warehousing, Terraform, Azure, Graph databases, F#, Flask, Infosec requirements, Django, Operations, Prometheus, Java, C#, C, Solidity, Ruby
Please bear in mind that most of my work experience is in private companies, and often in the financial sector, and I haven't so far done a lot of open-source. So you won't find lots of my code on github in public. But I have been coding and leading at the highest levels for more than 2 decades, so I'm happy to try and explain the things I've been working in more detail if you'd like.
