Cory Mathis

I'm a lifelong learner and I've always seen teaching as an indispensable facet of learning. In my view you can't truly be said to know something until you can successfully communicate your knowledge to others. Being successful in this communication isn't just a factor of your mastery of a subject, but also your ability to understand another person's perspective and cater the communication to fit their needs.

I've been teaching in some capacity since I graduated from college in 2012. I've been the lead guitar teacher at an independent music school, a math tutor to inner-city sixth-graders, and even been a third-grade English teacher in Taipei, Taiwan.

I love teaching as much as I love learning and I hope to share my passion for education with my students.

I'm currently a software engineer for Centene Corporation specializing in Golang and Java based microservices hosted on an internally managed Kubernetes cluster. I'm also passionate about the Ruby on Rails framework and responsive web design.

My teaching style is reflected by the diversity of my specialties. I'm a perpetually curious person whose passion is to learn and share that learning with others. I look forward to us learning together!
