TL;DR -- Full stack developer

A six month contract to work on services that visualized financial data for mutual funds. The company has traders that need to make trades and see data in a variety of ways. A lot of the work was cleaning up code written by developers who were new to Elixir & Phoenix.

Projects:

• Built a metrics dashboard that graphed financial metrics using Highcharts & Phoenix
• Cleaned up & refactored backend of finincial trading applicatoin to make it more maintainable
• Mentored junior developers on coding best practices

My work at Digital Turbine focused on decomposing a monolith into microservices. The monolith was built years ago in a way that now has scaling challenges, and my time is spent managing that as the business grows.

Projects:

• design & implement micro services that generate millions of dollars in new revenue (most recent project does 2 million USD/year)
• automated the schema migrations for our legacy MySQL database & trained everyone on the new process
• migrated ephemeral, manually seeding, node level cache to a persistent, automatically seeded, cluster level cache for a critical business feature
