What I enjoy most about writing software is the process in which we find elegant solutions to complex business problems that ultimately enhance the company's competitive advantage.
I am a proponent of the "simplest thing that can work" approach to software design and believe that introducing unnecessary complexity should be avoided at all costs. Adherence to SOLID Principles and a strong grasp of Design Patterns are essential and I take extra care to follow these established best practices.
In my 15+ year career, I have found that a Test-Driven approach to application development yields higher quality software and a more manageable codebase. Writing code that is testable is mandatory for maintainability and essential for automated deployment scenarios.
