HTML and CSS is the first thing I learned, mainly by reading books and such. It's the building blocks of the web and I think without some structured document markup, we wouldn't be building great websites. I've used HTML and CSS in pretty much every project, ever.

When I found Elixir (the second time) I was so excited. There are so many awesome features such as concurrency, functional programming, and meta-programming with macros. It didn't take me long to make the move and start writing Elixir code. Their community is so friendly and was easy to get started. I've started using Elixir to build pretty much anything. It's syntax is similar to that of Ruby, but very different. So being a Ruby developer, I was able to quickly learn the language within a few weeks. I have built and deployed a large-scale application with the Phoenix Web Framework. This application used the YouTube api to upload videos and an admin backend to manage entries as well as view the videos.

Ruby has been a fascinating language to me over the years. I've created a few packages on rubygems, and have created a few things on Github using Ruby. It's more of a Hobby to me rather than a full-time language.

The first web-language I had ever learned. Currently I'm using it daily to build WordPress websites. I have some experience with PHP frameworks such as Laravel.

Ruby on Rails is why I decided to learn Ruby in the first place. It's a framework that lets you create websites in a pretty fast time-line, that is, depending on the scope of the project. Sometimes I feel rails can be too complex at times, but I still love the framework.

Node.js is a fascinating kind of new development stack. I've built tons of modules for node and tons of applications using it. Meteor is one of those things I've worked with. ExpressJS is mainly what I use to build web applications using NodeJS.
