I've been developing and programming forever. It is what I do. I *love* helping people. I know many languages and methods. I've implemented many different things and I can usually find solutions to issues in a heartbeat. Let me help you , you will be glad you did.

I've been working with UNIX-like systems (Linux, FreeBSD, OpenBSD, Mac OS X and many more) for about 20 years, both as a hobby, as my field of study and as a profession. I run my own company in Sweden in UNIX consultation, education and hosting. I've also written five books about programming and Linux. The first book is about Python. The second book is about C programming in Linux, macOS, BSD and Solaris. The third book is about Linux system administration. The forth one is about Linux system programming (the only one in English). The fifth one is about Docker. I prefer to do freelance jobs. I can also do sessions though, but keep in mind that I prefer to use text chat only, no voice.

My passion is to provide system administration and systems process analysis for enterprise-critical technology. I enjoy resolving technological challenges and improving architectural stability of my domains. At Parkland College, I was the Linux Administrator for the Business and Computer Science Technologies (BCST) academic department: linux lab machines, thousands of student accounts, and various servers including NIS, NFS/filesharing, DNS/bind, nagios, Ansible, FreeIPA, CUPS and apache webservers on Slackware and CentOS. I leveraged Ansible for configuration management and AWS for backups and warm spare servers. I wrote scripts in bash, and maintained/updated the previous admin's scripts. I learned Python 3 in order to write a complex script that would have been too ugly using bash built-ins. I trained one of my talented students to take over my position. At the ASPCA, I managed the VoIP automated attendant, accounts, staff training, and provided top-tier on- call support for telephony. I was regularly called on to resolve issues such as dropped calls, echoes, user error, dropped database connections, and IVR routing. In my courses at Parkland, I wrote programs in .Net and Java. I have written one Android application in Java. My hardware experience involves phones, networks, and computer hardware. I have installed Cat5 ethernet in existing construction. I have replaced server and desktop RAM, hard drives, network cards, graphics cards, fans, power supplies, and CPU coolers. I am currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology at CSU Global.

“I sought Dejan to learn about Algorithms and CS questions that may come up in the upcoming interview he showed me some really outside of the box kind of details of the data structures that I thought that I knew. Would recommend!“

“I recommend Lucas for his exceptional guidance in DevOps integrations and pipeline automation. He helped me debug complex issues and develop a deep understanding of DevOps methodologies, CI automation, and product integration all within a challenging on-premise legacy environment using BCM, a local container registry, and artifact management with mirroring. Lucas is a true expert who didn’t just solve problems for me but taught me how to approach and solve them myself. His support and deep knowledge made all the difference. It was a pleasure learning from him.“

“Intro call for a personal project of mine went very well. It is evident he is a professional, answered my questions clearly and gave good advice and was easy to talk to. I talk in lots of circles and tangents but he was able to link back to previous points and follow and expand the picture. I would recommend.“
