I love technology and programming is my passion. I've been using computers since I was 6 years old in the 80's, and I've been programming professionally for over 16 years. I really love learning new things, so I've used many different programming languages and frameworks, ranging from C/C++, C# or Flash/Flex to Javascript, but my expertise is deeper in JVM languages like Kotlin, Groovy and Scala, and particularly Java. I love the linux command line and I always have a terminal open when I'm programming. I use Tmux as a terminal multiplexor so that I can have multiple terminals and navigate between them, and I use Vim as text editor on the commandline. I also use a Vim plugin for any text editor or IDE I use. I like to share my knowledge and to mentor junior members of the team, so this platform gives me the opportunity to help many more people get to the next level.

Software development has always been what I love and what I wanted to do. During my career, I've also discovered that helping others become better software engineers is a complementary aspect of my job that I truly enjoy and derive satisfaction from. I've worked in various industries using agile methodologies and modern technologies related to Java, Microservices, Cloud, and On-premises infrastructures. I've contributed to building software that is thoroughly tested, easy to maintain, and extendable, currently used by millions of users. I've also helped design architectures that are clean, scalable, fault-tolerant, and highly available. I've had the privilege of mentoring very bright individuals whom I've seen improve on a day-to-day basis. I am very keen on sharing my experience and expertise, helping you become a better software engineer. If you need any code reviewed, bugs debugged, or if you're ready to learn TDD... If you need advice while writing code, want to discuss a design solution, or require guidance on your next career move... Please, reach out!

“I had a fantastic session with Erum focused on understanding the internals of the Spark UI. She explained complex concepts like stages, tasks, and shuffles in a very clear and visual manner. What really stood out was how she connected the theory with real Spark execution graphs and showed me how to interpret performance metrics effectively. Erum also guided me through practical optimization techniques—like how to reduce shuffle overhead, how Spark breaks jobs into stages, and how to use partitioning intelligently. Highly recommended for anyone needing deep, hands-on Spark guidance“

“I've been learning with Lucas for over a month now, and I can confidently say he's both an incredible person and a top-tier DevOps instructor. From the very first session, we dove into a complex, containerized environment involving legacy on-premise integration and Lucas guided me through it with clarity and confidence. What sets him apart is not just his deep technical knowledge, but his ability to identify exactly where your understanding breaks down and fix it on the spot. He’s helped me build a solid programming foundation, structure a learning roadmap, and bridge the gap between my CISSP background and my new direction in DevSecOps. His mentorship has been instrumental in my career transition. I genuinely look forward to every session not just for the learning, but because working with Lucas is simply inspiring.“
